Areas of Concern

Everything you read I have personnally experienced, witnessed or have documents and data to support.

Taxes

Avoiding fines from the PSC is an issue for all and it is done in many ways. Verizon has a responsibility to keep customers in service and "install" new lines in a timely manner.

When you are converting new "installations" into repair jobs before the customer "has service" you can avoid millions of dollars in fines.

Verizon is not fixing the "copper cables" so many of the new service lines would definitely not be working in a timely manner. Most people have no idea the service they are paying for is not working in their home and spend days if not weeks looking for a phone jack that works. All that time the customers are paying for service that is not working in their home and they don't get any credit unless a technician comes out and proves the problem was outside of the home.

Trust

If the Goverment is contemplating giving Verizon the authority to monitor phone lines on their behalf, take this into consideration.

What do you say about a company that was intentionally putting their compititions phone lines out of service so often that the compititions customers had to go back to Verizon?

What do you say about a company that would put it's own residential customers working phone line out of service to accommidate a business customer?

What do you say about a company that would leave customers out of service intentionally for weeks and sometimes months until they gave in and took FIOS.

I know for a fact that in Long Island, N.Y. %80 of the repair troubles I worked on were "copper cable" related and Verizon was doing nothing to fix them. Instead they directed technicians to tell customers if you want service, you need to switch to FIOS.

Payroll

Verizon Managers control payroll codes and often employees are docked pay for latenesses and are not notified until they recieve their checks the next week. If you are not paying attention and working alot of overtime this can slip right by you. By the time you see what occured you have to back track and find a witness who remembers your "time of arrival the week before". Management does not mark lateness into the AMTS system unless they intend to "step" you. 15 minutes equaled $8 for me. Now you multiply that by 10 over the course of a year then multiply that by 100 technicians in one(1) garage then add a couple of suspensions of "erroneous" reasons for 10 to 15days pay if your lucky, 30 days if your a minority, and you can put together 10k to 15K easy to put back in "the budget" for Local Manager Bonuses.

Bookkeeping

If you're a customer who requested a new line and you're told your phone will be on in 2 days (for example) it does not mean you will be able to use the phone in 2 days. It means Verizon will turn on the service in "the frame" in 2 days. You may not be able to use the phone for several more days or even weeks, depending apon where you live, if the wire connections from "the frame" to your home are not all connected. This is often the case for new lines and Verizon management knows it. They allow these new phone lines to pass thei`r way into the repair system when you (The customer) calls in to complain about not having service. Becuase the line is pushed into repair immediatly, Verizon is able to avoid fines from the PSC for not providing service in a timly manner. Verizon managers then force technicians  to "install" these new lines on repair time. You usually have 2 hours to fix these problems but Verizon managers know, most new lines take more than 2 hours.

So if you take more than 2 hours, they have the employee in a position for disiplinary action. Then they direct you to code the problem as "inside wire" as if it's the customers fault Verizon is not fixing the "copper cables" that deliver the service.

Advisory
"The Best Liers Money Can Buy"

Verizon Executives Know that for every 5000 employees they "remove from the payroll" they save about $250,000,000 a year in salary payments.

50% won't fight and just go away. $125,000,000

30% won't have the documents and or                     witnesses nessesary to fight    $75,000,000

That's $200 million a year they don't have to worry about.

The 20% left- Half(%50) get washed away by                Arbitraitions and Summary Judgements

Note: There's $50 million left availible for Attorney Fees and payoffs

and the final %10 ($25,000,000) they might have to pay for their wrongdoings.

Thats why they can throw $20 million at EEOC v. Verizon Maryland to avoid the conversation and duck Sexual Harrasment and other claims with settlements of 40 to 300k

Local Management

I know of several women who were subjected to sexual harrasment by managers who were Serial Sexual Predators in the workplace. Most of them had nowhere to turn for help especially if they were working as assistants to technicians in the field. The official term managers used was "Escorts" If these women complained about this term being used in a derogatory manner or sexual advances they were often transfered so far away from their homes that they would have to spend most of their salary ($8 to $10 per hour) on transportation.

Racial Discrimination is a joke to Ethics Investigators and a means for Verizon Counsel to prepare management for your termination. They will contact the managers you complain about and give them advise on how to avoid liability.

Verizon managers have discriminated against employees with disabilities and cronic illnesses on a regular basis. All you have to do is call in sick for Verizon Managers to start a "Fraud Investigation".

If you have Diabetes "Fraud Investigation"

If you have Sickle-Cell "Fraud Investigation"

Clinically stressed "Fraud Investigation"

Injured on the job "Fraud Investigation"

And even if MetLife, Verizon's Insurance providerdoes not find "any fraud" you can still get fired.

Imagine that invioronment with a 2nd Level Manager, in charge of more than 100 employees, that has Racial Animus toward African-Americans. Likes to say and do what he wants to women that work for him or needs some extra money to take care of the"responsibilities" he created at work while persuing a Verizon employee outside of his marrage.
